Jesús Rodríguez joins The Post as a political reporter in Style
Rodríguez is originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, has a bachelor’s degree in international politics and a law degree from Georgetown University. Jesús Rodríguez, a political reporter in Style, has been announced as a new political reporter for The Washington Post. He previously wrote features about politics and law for Politico Magazine, including on Democrats’ legal strategy against election denialism and George Santos’s life in Congress. His work has also been featured in Vox and the Nation, and he has been honored with the Periplus Collective Fellowship and the Joel Gay Creative Fellowship. He has a bachelor's degree in international politics and a law degree from Georgetown University, and his first day will be March 20. Please join us in welcoming him to The Post.

We are excited to announce that Jesús Rodríguez will be joining The Washington Post as a political reporter in Style. Jesús comes to us from Politico Magazine, where he wrote features about politics and law as a staff writer, including on Democrats’ legal strategy against election denialism, the country’s only mobile vasectomy clinic in post-Roe Missouri and George Santos’s life in Congress. Previously, he was a contributing editor there.
Jesús spearheaded the publication of Politico’s first Spanish-language story, on the democratic ethos of a Central American migrant caravan that arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2018. In 2021, he wrote a personal essay in the Atlantic about his life as an undocumented immigrant, and his work has also been featured in Vox and the Nation. He has been honored with the Periplus Collective Fellowship and the Joel Gay Creative Fellowship.
